Initially spun by the Left — if they reported it at all — as nothing more than a heated demonstration that escalated into a ripping up of a U.S. flag, yesterday’s assault on the US chancery in Libya has now cost lives.
Libyan officials say that US ambassador to Libya, J. Christopher Stevens and three staff members were killed during yesterday’s violence in the city of Benghazi. The State Department announced one death late yesterday but later, the administration issued a statement confirming the deaths. In a bold move that will make all Americans proud, Obama announced increased security at US consulates worldwide.
In addition to the Libya incident yesterday, there was also an attack on the embassy in Egypt. The spark that ignited the day of violence was attributed to a video made by an American that was critical of the prophet Mohammed.
Worthy of note is the despicable spin put on this whole situation from the start. First, as events began to unfold the mob was called “protestors” yet rather than carry signs they had guns and grenade launchers. Rather than stand unified to communicate their message, they stormed the walls of a chancery. This was no protest, it was an attack.
The next item of note is the horrifying cowardice displayed by Obama, Clinton and the other liberal losers that currently run our government. They actually released a statement condemning free speech.
The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims — as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.
Huh? How exactly can someone abuse the “universal right of free speech” by using it? Isn’t suppressing free speech actually the abuse?
So an American exerts his right to free speech and makes a video criticizing Mohammed. Because they don’t like the message, Muslims attack and burn an embassy with guns and grenade launchers, tear up our flag and kill diplomats. And our government, for the world to see, blames “free speech” for hurting their feelings.
Quick, hand me the barf bag.
Who the hell is in charge of this fiasco? Are the people running this country actually Americans?
The New York Times is reporting that “a spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood, the mainstream Islamist group and the sponsor of Egypt’s first elected president, Mohamed Morsi, urged the United States government on Tuesday to prosecute the “madmen” behind the video, according to the English-language Web site of the state newspaper, Al Ahram.”
Did you notice the word “mainstream” neatly tucked into the reference of the Muslim Brotherhood? Left-lunacy at its best.
Let’s catch a dose of reality here, crusaders.
These were not “protestors”, as the Left would have you believe. They were an armed assault force with an objective. They may not have worn military uniforms but the automatic rifles and grenade launchers kind of give them away. Further, the video that supposedly “sparked” this thing was posted some time ago. Why was there no “protest” upon its release? Remember, there were attacks on two embassies. Further, there is a “bitch-slap America” element here as the attacks took place on September 11th, a day of national pain for Americans – but a day of joy for our Islamic enemies.
Clearly, this was a planned effort. This was an organized assault.
Obviously, the war on terror is not finished. And we will not prevail — in fact, we will get our asses kicked — if we allow politically correct cowards to continue to blame America for the problems of the world. Islam’s religious extremism is not the fault of the American Constitution or American values or American citizens. Any politician that can not stand tall and acknowledge this fact is unfit for office.
Enough is enough, crusaders. It is time to demand that American leaders honor and defend the country, the values and the Constitution they get paid to represent.
