The Dumb Blond Joke Behind the Democratic National Convention

“Why don’t women wear a watch?

“Because there’s a clock on the stove.”

Tell a joke like that and you can rest assured that the person who told it will not be a winning candidate for dog catcher, no less than President of the United States.  And with good reason.  It suggests that a woman’s place is in the home where she plays a subordinate, supportive role to her husband and family.  In this day and age, women have stepped out of the shadow of such untrue and degrading gender based assumptions.  They were assumptions which women from Joan of Arc, to Florence Nightingale proved wrong in days of yore and whose examples which contemporary women from Golda Mier, to more recently Margaret Thatcher and Condoleezza Rice continue to prove wrong today.  These are all women who defied attempts by others to define them as helpless damsels in distress and stewards of the kitchen.  They are women who didn’t even rely on men to achieve their own greatness.  Thatcher, and Rice did not marry into power.  They are proud self-made women who shattered the sick sexism of society without parlaying their husband’s last names and political careers into their own careers. They are perfect examples of strong women who have proven the shameful stereotypes perpetuated by the tasteless badinage of the aforementioned wisecrack to be utterly false and sublimely ignorant notions.

The recent Republican National Convention went to great and not so subtle, but natural lengths to demonstrate just how false those outdated stereotypes of women are.  They featured women in their natural roles as leaders, self-made leaders who rose to power thanks to their own determination, talent and ingenuity.  From Cathy McMorris Rodgers to Mia Love and Governors Susana Martinez and Nikki Haley, Senator Kelly Ayote , Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and dozens of others, the G.O.P. convention allowed women to be themselves and make the case not just for those of their own gender, but for all Americans.  But as Democrats gather to hold their convention in North Carolina, they are about to use women to exploit the very stereotypes they have fought so hard against.  At their convention, Democrats will depict woman in a way that should make militant liberal feminazis like Gloria Steinem so violently ill that it causes them to burst into spontaneous episodes of painful, involuntary, heaving that produces dangerously powerful projectile vomiting.

Much like the Republican National Convention, women will be front and center at the Democratic National Convention.  Well some women will be.  The most powerful woman in the Obama Administration, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be out of the country and even out of the hemisphere as she embarks upon an apparently critical mission to the string of 15 small islands in the Pacific known as that Cook Islands.  From there the President is sending her to Siberia. Really, he is.

But Clinton’s politically timed exile from the convention to the far reaches of Siberia aside, Democrats are gearing up to feature liberal women like House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Democratic National Committee Chairman Debbie Wasserman Schultz… two people who argue that unless the government finances the interests of women, woman can’t succeed.  Other women they will feature include women’s rights activist Lilly Ledbetter, President of Planned Parenthood Action Fund Cecile Richards, National Abortion Rights Action League Pro-Choice America President Nancy Keenan, and the highly accomplished and well-known Georgetown Law School Graduate Sandra “Who”  Fluke.

All of these women will try to have you believe that Republicans are trying to kill women.  They will try to offer up tear jerking tales that depict women as helpless victims who are at the mercy of the hands of government… the big hands of big government.

Lilly Ledbetter will try to claim that the G.O.P. opposes a woman’s right to equal pay for equal work.  She will highlight the bill named after her which was the first legislation President Obama signed into law.   Ledbetter will claim that while it assured women the right to equal pay, Republicans opposed it.  She will not mention that the bill actually simply extended the amount of time a woman had to sue an employer if they believed they were a victim of pay discrimination.  She will not mention that it does not guarantee women anything ant that the whole Lilly Ledbetter law was merely a symbolic political  attempt to make it look like Democrats were focused on helping women.

Cecile Richards will argue that Republican attempts to ban the tearing off of limbs of infants during late term abortions, or to ban the termination of a life because of its sex are cruel examples of some sort of Republican hatred of women.

Nancy Keenan will argue women want a President who believes that the only way they can make the personal, private medical decisions that are best for them and their families is if the federal government takes charge and makes those decision for them by increasing the size, scope, scope and cost of government.

And in what will perhaps be the most amusing argument of the entire liberal convention, Sandra Fluke, a truly inconsequential personality whose greatest accomplishment is that she graduated from law school without getting pregnant, will try to convince Americans that if the evil and heartless heartless Republican Party and its candidates had their way and stopped Americans from seeing their taxes pay for her birth control, she would be barefoot, pregnant and without a law degree.

Then on Thursday night President Obama will portray himself as a princely knight in shining armor who rushes in to save the stereotypically helpless fair maidens of America.

It’s a message that should have all women truly doubtful of how much respect Democrats have for them.  Their characterization of women as a monolithic bloc of one issue voters who will support the failed liberals policies that we are all suffering under because of the liberal promise to hand out free birth control, is a narrative that should insult all women but especially the left wingers behind such liberal entities as Emily’s List.

Traditionally, liberal women’s rights groups like  Emily’s List and similar organizations have touted the strength of women and celebrated their independence and endless abilities.  But today, Democrat groups like those are hypocritically going out of their way to paint a much different picture of women.  They are portraying women as helpless, lost souls with no self-control or capacity to stand on their own without a federal government that mandates their healthcare treatment and like a good husband, gives the little lady an allowance. In this case, a taxpayer subsidized federal allowance.

Gone from the liberal lexicon are the portrayals of women as leaders who have taken control of their own destiny and led themselves, their families, their towns, cities, states, and nation to a better life.  Gone from the Democratic Party are the days when women had their own voice because according to today’s Democrat Party, government provides them with a stronger voice than their own.

The whole liberal inspired election strategy that claims Republicans are waging a war on women is akin to the telling of a bad joke about blonds.  Their claim that women are helpless without government in control of their lives and the lives of their families, is as offensive as the President standing before the nation and quipping;

“How do you make a blonde laugh on Monday?”
“Tell her a joke on Friday?”

It is a mocking and odious approach that does not address the real problems facing women; it simply operates under the false premise that women are gullible enough to believe they need someone to provide for them.   And it is ultimately based on the real question that President Obama has been asking advisors…  “How do I get women to vote for me and fellow Democrats on Election Day?”

For Democrats the answer to that question is “lie to them and hope that they don’t realize the truth till at least the day after the election.”

And the truth they hope that women will be too slow to understand in time for Election Day is that under President Obama, women have lost much of the parity in society that they have fought for over the past four decades.  Under President Obama women have had to endure their highest rate of unemployment in over 17 years as they account for 92.3% of the jobs lost since he took office, an accomplishment that distinguishes President Obama’s record on women’s participation in the labor force as the worst ever.

These are not points you will hear Democrats talking about at their quadrennial celebration of liberalism.  In fact at the Democrat’s convention there will be few if any direct and turthful references to things the President has actually done “for” women.  The overwhelming result of his record on women is one which has done more to them than for them.  But with the women’s vote in several key swing states being critical to Obama’s reelection, Democrats will continue to exploit women as helpless and reliant citizens married to the trough of government and they will continue to pray that their attempt to make women believe that Mitt Romney is The Boston Strangler and that Paul Ryan is Jack the Ripper takes hold.

Democrats Remain Torn Over Convention Theme

Bookmark and Share  Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus recently announced that the theme of the G.O.P.’s convention in Tampa Bay that begins on  August 27th, will be  “A Better Future”.

According to Priebus;

“Americans are ready for a new direction, and that’s why our convention will focus on the Romney-Ryan vision for a better future.”

“After four years of high unemployment and skyrocketing debt, we need America’s ‘Comeback Team’ to get the country working again and protect the American Dream for our children and grandchildren,” said Priebus.  “During our convention, the American people will hear about the priorities, experience and knowhow of our nominees and their plans to secure a better future for our country.”

“This convention will bring together Americans from every corner of the country and every walk of life,” said convention Chief Executive Officer William Harris.  “Whatever their background, wherever they’re from, they know too well that our country faces serious problems.  But they also know that the American people have confronted difficult challenges before, and that together, with strong leadership, we can overcome those challenges and secure a better future for generations to come.”

While the G.O.P. finds it’s base energized and increasingly enthusiastic with the prospects for our nation’s future that a Romney-Ryan ticket brings to it, Democrats find themselves weighed down by their ticket.   These days, between the Obama Administration’s dismal record, a host of scandals, and a string of verbal gaffe’s from both the President and the Vice President, Democrats are finding it hard to get excited over the prospects that renominating Obama and Biden will bring.   That lack of enthusiasm has created a minor glitch in the Party’s attempts to gear up for their national event.

Democrats who will be holding their convention 4 days after the gavel comes down on the G.O.P.’s shindig, but they have not yet made any official announcements on what specifically their theme will exactly be.  Phyllis Stine, a spokeswoman for DNC Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, told White House 2012 that Democrat leaders have “narrowed their choices down to several promising themes that offer powerful messages.  One of the most popular at the moment is “It’s Not That Bad”.  However many convention planners are currently pushing for us to make, “It’s their Fault” the overriding theme of the convention.”

But Reed Dicuolous, a spokeswoman  for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi told White House 2012 that the Minority Leader is of the opinion  that creating one specific theme for the convention would be a mistake.  According to Diculous, “Leader Pelosi has repeatedly stated that organizers of the convention will have to watch the convention before they could possibly know what will be in it“.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s spokeswoman Devoida Lahjick, revealed that Senator Reid is trying to insure that the convention focusses on nothing other than Mitt Romney and he urges to Democrats scrap any attempts to establish a single theme.  “Planning ahead is dangerous and it would risk committing ourselves to a message that we may need to change as the elections plays itself out.  Besides, we haven’t made plans for a federal budget in four years and look at how well that’s worked at turning our economy around,” said Lahjick.

Devoida Lahjick explains that  Senator Reid believes that regardless of any theme convention organizers settle on, the 4 day convention should concentrate on nothing other than attacking Mitt Romney and defining him as an evil business baron.  “By the time we are done with him, Americans should view Mitt Romney as a contemporary cross between Ebenezer Scrooge and Mr. Bumble”,   said Lahjick.

Meanwhile Daniel Kurtzman an intrepid online political columnist at about.com, has come across the Democrat’s preliminary schedule for their convention:

Michele Bachmann’s Money Pitch

Bookmark and Share   This evening, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann sent out a fundraising email that stressed her dedication to “constitutional conservatism” and less government and more freedom [see the email below this post]. In it she also describes herself as having the “titanium spine” that is needed to make voter’s voices heard in Washington, D.C. Her email then goes on to explain that in order to make that voice heard properly, she first needs to hear from you.

So her email provides a link to a so-called survey which asks 10 questions that, for conservatives, are nothing but rhetorical. For instance, how else would a Republican respond to a question asking them which is the best strategy to create jobs?

◊I believe that true job creation will only come with reduced taxes and spending.
◊I agree with President Obama. We must spend more to create jobs in America.

If you answer that question wrong, please re-register as a Dummocrat and join Debbie Wasserman Schultz at the DNC headquarters to brainstorm on some strategies that will allow the Dems to take back control of the House in 2012.

When you are done answering the obvious (so long as you’re not a Jerry Brown voting Californian or yearning for the days of Jimmy Carter), a donation page appears and asks you to fill in your information and check off the amount of your donation.

If you’re a Bachmann backer, you will.  If not, you probably will have clicked on the spam icon in your email toolbar, long before you ever got that far. Either way, White House 2012 provides you with her pitch to supporters.  Every communication that a campaign sends out, says much about the candidate.  This one from Bachmann’s campaign is no different.  So have a read and get a look at how Bachmann hopes to appeal to enough Republicans to build a wining coalition of supporters who will award her the Republican nomination for President.

 Runway MMC Line Break

In recent days, some have said that to get elected President in 2012, you have to veer to the left. Not me, I don’t buy it. I believe that America is still a conservative nation and the American Donatepeople are desperate for a return to the common-sense conservative solutions that once made us flourish. Policies like lower taxes, secure borders, less regulation, and the full repeal of Obamacare are necessary to put our nation back on track and, as President, I won’t settle for anything less.

As I’ve traveled across America advocating for our shared values, I’ve met thousands of fellow constitutional conservatives who have painted a vivid picture of a great nation in need of a new direction. Your combined voices have shaped and refined my message of less government and more freedom, but a limited amount of time and a lot of ground to cover, it is nearly impossible to speak to every voter, one-on-one. But your voice is important. As a candidate for President of the United States, I want to hear from each and every one of you, and that’s why our campaign has put together an American Issues Survey to get your input on the issues most important to you. I hope you’ll join other constitutional conservatives in taking this important survey by visiting this link.

These days, robbing Peter to pay Paul is the new normal. President Obama’s second stimulus has proposed $450 billion in new spending, funded by new taxes and a widening deficit. Businesses are being unfairly, but successfully, sued by Big Labor at the cost of thousands of jobs and billions of dollars — for the benefit of wealthy union bosses. And, even while millions of Americans sit without work, job creators are being targeted with even more taxes and job killing regulations, in what is already one of the world’s harshest climates for business taxation.

The candidate who our party nominates for President must be prepared to tackle these issues head on, and stand strong for the conservative ideas that will move our nation forward. I have the titanium spine necessary to take your voice to Washington and fight for our shared values, but first I need to know what’s on your mind. Will you visit this link and fill out our American Issues Survey so that I’m prepared to lead with the voice of the people?

You most likely hear this a lot, but it’s as true as ever–the stakes in the 2012 Presidential race have never been higher. With a President who systematically injects his left-wing ideology into our daily lives, other candidates’ records promise more of the same, taking a slightly different course from President Obama but arriving at the same destination on issues like immigration, healthcare, and infringement on liberty. We’ve got to elect a President who won’t settle for anything but an entirely different path. I won’t settle, and you can count on that.

Our survey is only ten questions long, and is important to maintaining a winning strategy as the primary campaign enters its busiest season. It will only take you a few minutes to answer, and that’s why I hope you’ll fill it out right away.

As we continue our campaign for the White House, I’m always thankful to have you by my side. If we’re going to win this election, we have to stick together and keep our eyes on the ball — defeating President Obama and returning our voices to the White House.

Sincerely,

Michele Bachmann

P.S. After you finish our ten-question survey, you’ll have an opportunity to support our campaign to take back the White House with a generous donation. In a  recent article, Bloomberg News noted our campaign’s extraordinary grassroots donors, the sum of which is larger than any other candidate in this race. By making a contribution of $25, $50, $100, or more after completing the survey, you can join this incredible group of patriots who have made grassroots donations in support of the issues mentioned on the survey, and help us move the ball down the field towards victory. Thanks! Michele

Electing Democrats in 2012 Will Be Really Difficult with Leaders Like Wasserman-Schultz

Bookmark and Share   This morning on Fox News, Democrat Party Chairman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, an under-liberal congresswoman from Florida went out of her way to articulate that people do not elect leaders to create jobs.

Debbie is partially right.

Republicans understand that politicians and governments do not create jobs, at least jobs that are sustainable and produce the type of profits  that lead to creating more sustainable jobs. Meanwhile Democrats like Wasserman Schultz and President Obama believe that government is the entity that needs to create jobs. This ignores the fact that more government jobs simply create more government spending, and requires more funding through additional taxation.

However, this morning, Schultz defied both actual logic and liberal logic.

When Fox News host Gretchen Carlson punctuated a point by stating that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell believes that with a Republican President, the nation can create jobs, Wasserman Schultz laughed and stated, “that’s not why people elected leaders though”.

That should come as news to her liberal colleagues and it sure as heck contradicts everything she claimed in her years of liberal service prior
to today. As shown in the video below, Wasserman Schultz is on record claiming that creating jobs is the only thing people want from their leaders.

But liberal hypocrisy aside, Wasserman Schultz is right, but for all the wrong reasons.

People should not elect their political leaders to create jobs.  However, one of the reasons they should elect a political leader is for their
ability to allow government to create an atmosphere that allow the American people to create jobs through the free market. That is a point which Democrats and President Obama have not been able to comprehend. It is also why the unemployment rate is stuck at an historically long sustained high of 9.1%, why our economic growth has slow to stagnant, and part of the reason why our debt is at a record 70% of our GDP and growing higher every day.

Meanwhile, Debbie Wasserman Schultz keeps proving that she is probably one of the G.O.P.’s best friends in the world.

While she is a veritable fount of stupidity and contradiction, she is an accurate representation of liberal thinking and therefore a perfect
representative her Party, which as its national chair, Wasserman Schultz certainly is. I’m hoping that in an attempt to at least keep a portion of the women vote, President Obama dumps ol’ Joe Biden and puts Debbie on the Democrat ticket as his vice presidential running mate. Such a move would help expedite what is already a precipitous demise of the left and their Party as we approach 2012.

Democrats Are Good for Something

Bookmark and Share Democrats say the funniest things and what amazes me is how they can do so with such straight faces.

Then again, as made evident by the new White House 2012 video below, their straight faces come from the fact that they are not joking.  They’re serious.  That means they are actually as stupid as they sound.  The stupidity is often so stunning that it provides a good laugh, at least until you realize they were  serious.

Operation Old TEA Bag: President Obama’s Inevitable Reelection Strategy

Bookmark and Share As the sun came up over Brooklyn on September 13th, 2011, Lewis Fidler received a phone call reminding him to support Democrat David Weprin in the special election taking place in CD-9.
The recent special election in New York’s 9th Congressional District did more than just elect a Republican to a seat that hasn’t been in the hands of the G.O.P. since 1923. As evident in Bill Clinton’s get-out-the-vote phone call, it also shed some light on the desperation of Democrats and what direction they will throw the ball in when they try to salvage their 2012 election fortunes with a last minute Hail Mary pass.  It offerred us insight in to the type of campaign that President Obama will resort to once he catches on to the fact that things like his third stimulus plan and his latest spending program to create jobs aren’t working for the country and aren’t being bought by the people.

In the race that pitted liberal incumbent Democrat Assemblyman David Weprin against retired businessman, Republican Bob Turner, Democrats struggled to find the issues that their candidate could run on to win voters over. Initially they did not even do that. At first it was assumed that as always, whichever Democrat they ran, would sail to victory and succeed sex texting addict Anthony Weiner. But then in August, Democrat polling showed something strange. It showed that Democrat Weprin was not getting the amount of support that Democrats usually get. This then suggested to them that they actually had a real and competitive election on their hands.

So they got to work and started to develop the issues they would campaign on.

What they found was that Weprin and Democrats had no positions on the issues that would excite voters and convince them that Weprin was their man. Even in a relatively liberal district like the ninth, there were no issues which Democrats held a popular position on.

There was the issue of gay marriage which Weprin recently supported the passage of in the New York State Assembly. But with a heavy Hassidic Jewish population in the ninth, legalizing marriage between two people of the same sex was far from popular.

There was the issue of our national debt. On that issue, Weprin held a typical Democrat line which supported big government and big government social programs. But even in a left leaning district like the one that spans the working class neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens, voters know that our debt has become a deepening crisis for our nation and as such, they understand that more government spending is not realistic. That left Weprin with the opportunity to use the traditional liberal language of tax increases to pay for all the spending. But in the middleclass communities of NY-9, tax increases, even for those who earn $250,000 or more, doesn’t really go over well. The ninth congressional district is comprised largely of those people in the middle……the ones who get hit from both ends and are not poor enough to benefit from government social programs, but are not wealthy enough to take advantage of the tax loopholes and credits that the political establishment has arranged for. So these people did not want to hear the Obama “make the rich pay their fare share” rhetoric. Many of them are afraid that a liberal definition of “rich” would include them.

There was the issue of immigration. However on that issue, Weprin has a liberal “Dream Act” position that does not solve the illegal immigration issue that impacts on his district’s residents. They do not want their money going to fulfilling the dreams of illegal immigrants. These people, many of which remember seeing the World Trade Center from their windows and worked within its shadows, want our borders secured.

So like many other issues, that was out.

There was Israel. After all, with a population of Jewish voters that is disproportionately larger than in many other districts throughout the nation, as an Orthodox Jew himself, Weprin could certainly and convincingly argue his support for Israel and ride high on the popularity of that point. Unfortunately though, being a Democrat, most voters linked Weprin to President Obama’s unfriendly policies towards Israel. And Weprin’s argument to voters that they should trust him on israel because he would fight for Israel from within, didn’t have wings.

Short of a total condemnation of President Obama by Weprin, the Jewish vote in his district simply viewed Weprin as a congressional rubberstamp for Obama’s polcies.

The further Democrats went down the list of issues important to the middleclass voters of the ninth, the more they realized that there were no issues which allowed them to present a position that they could derrive district-wide support for.

So what is a candidate with a competitive election ahead of him to do?

Why, resort to the liberal playbook, of course!

That meant scare citizens. That meant to try and distort the Republican position to preserve Social Security and Medicare for those on it and those expecting to soon be on them. It meant denying the Republican position to preserve those programs for future generation with reforms that will strengthen Social Security and medicare. It meant do your best to make vulnerable senior citizens believe that if a Republican won, they would deny them the money that many seniors have come to rely upon.

That was a good start but Weprin and his Democrat strategists and Washington puppet masters needed something else to attract some voters outside of the senior citizen demographic. That’s when the orders from Washington came down. And that is when the strategy to run against the TEA Party came into play.

So in early August Operation Old TEA Bag went into effect. That is when Weprin campaign spokesperson Elizabeth Kerr first argued the following:

“Bob Turner’s doing anything he can to distract voters from his plan to end Medicare as we know it, which would cost seniors in Brooklyn and Queens an extra $6,400 every year,” .

And from there, the tactics to scare senior citizens began

Then when the news that Standard & Poor’s had downgraded the country’s credit rating because of fiscal uncertainty came out and dominated the headlines, Weprin’s campaign defined Bob Turner as a TEA Party extremist and charged that because of their “irresponsible demands”, “Republican Tea Party extremists” facilitated the downgrade and the fallout from it.

From that point on, the Democrat campaign for Congress in NY-9 began.

It was a constant barrage of trying to make the TEA Party the enemy that voters had to unite against. It was a never ending campaign to define Bob Turner as the TEA Party candidate. In Between those lines of attack was tossed in the same old scare tactics intended to frighten senior citizens that predate the Reagan Administration.

For his part Bob Turner campaigns argued;

“Career politicians like David Weprin have taxed and spent this country into a crisis. They have jeopardized the entire social safety network by irresponsibly borrowing 40 cents of every dollar we spend,”

And as one Turner campaign aide put it;

“Businessman Bob Turner is running to protect Social Security and Medicare for every American over 55 years old and to put those essential programs on a sustainable path for everybody younger than that.”

But Bob Turner didn’t just defend himself against Operation Old TEA Bag. He spent most of his time denouncing the Obama policies that even urban, middle-class Democrats have lost faith in. Like the days of Ronald Reagan, Bob Turner found himself addressing a new generation of Reagan Democrats. Democrats who do not appreciate the condition of our nation and do not have faith in the direction their Party is heading in under a liberal President.

Yet as the campaign continued and the polls tightened, D.C. Democrats from the DCCC, DNC, and from the state and local Party apparatus, double-downed on their last hope……Operation Old TEA Bag. Even when only days before the special election was to take and polls showed that Turner turned the tables and was now ahead of Weprin, Democrats found themselves desperately trying to make a success of their fear campaign of senior citizens and their efforts to make the TEA Party the common enemy.

The plan was perfect. It even concluded on a high note…….a recorded phone call from former President Clinton which tied the TEA Party and Medicare together as he stated “and he’ll oppose the TEA Party plan to destroy Medicare” But ultimately, what Democrats thought was the perfect strategy, proved to be as unsustainable and useless as their economic policies.

Like driving a car on empty, it was a last ditch, desperate attempt to run a camping not on any issues, just on fear. The only problem is that in the end, senior citizens were less afraid of distortions about Bob Turner than they were of the truth about the current direction our nation is headed. In the end, the voters of the ninth district decided that the TEA Party was not their problem. Democrats were.

Unless Democrats start singing a different a tune, they will still be the problem in 2012. And just as Operation Old TEA Bag did not work for them in CD-9, it will not work for them in the 2012 elections. With few accompishments of his own to point toand with most Americans wanting to repeal his signature achievement…..Obamacare, President Obama is likely to  do little else but resort to scaring senior citizens and trying to run against the TEA Party.  Operation Old TEA Bag did not end in the streets of Brookjlyn and Queens.  It is really only just starting at Pennsylvania Avenue.

Why Did Bob Turner Win and What Does It Mean for the President?

Bookmark and Share Last night’s win of Republican Bob Turner in the special election to replace disgraced Congressman Anthony Weiner was a truly loud message to President Obama and Democrats. And while it does not necessarily mean that President Obama is surely going to be defeated in 2012, the fact that a Republican won this traditionally Democrat district with a 3 to one Democrat to Republican registration ratio in the heart of liberal New York City does mean trouble for Democrats.

In the video below the newly elected Congressman explains why he believes he won.

Turner is correct.

Normally winning the Democrat nomination for anything in this district is tantamount to winning the election. The only reason that was not the case this time was because voters are angry and wanted to let President Obama know that. Most important here is that this is a district heavily populated by a large Jewish constituency. Traditionally, the Jewish vote has mainly gone to Democrats but in this particular election, many Jewish voters came out to make it clear to President Obama that they oppose his policies involving Israel.

This will be a problem for the President in 2012. There is little he can do between now and then to reclaim favor among a substantial portion of the Jewish vote. Unless the President does a total 180 degree turn on many of his Israel related positions, he will have a hard time reaching the 270 electoral votes needed to win reelection. The Jewish community will not easily forget President Obama’s disrespect of Prime Minister Netanyahu when he withdrew from a meeting to eat dinner and left the Prime Minister waiting for the President to finish his meal. And more importantly than that, Jews will not simply ignore President Obama’s request for Israel to return to its 1967 borders which prohibit Israel from properly defending itself.

As demonstrated in NY-9, the general anti-Semitic impression that the President’s actions and policies has generated within the Jewish community may not affect him very much in states with low Jewish populations like Utah, but many of those states are not expected to vote for President Obama anyway. But in a state like Florida which has one of the largest Jewish populations in the nation, the Jewish vote can make all the difference to President Obama’s reelection chances. There, without the Jewish vote, President Obama is sure to lose and without Florida, there are few if any realistic mathematical combination of state electoral votes that he can piece together to arrive at 270 electoral votes.

Yet Democrats are doing their very best to try to put a happy face on the message that the voters of New York’s 9th congressional district sent them on Tuesday.

In interviews the morning after the special election in New York, Democrat National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, who happens to represent a Florida district that is also heavily Jewish, used an interview regarding their loss of this seat and trying to make the case that it wasn’t a harbinger of things to come. According to Wasserman-Schultz;;

“It’s a very difficult district for Democrats”.

“It’s a very difficult district for Democrats”? —— What? ……. Is she joking?

The only way New York’s 9th CD would be difficult for a Democrat to win is if the name of the Democrat on the ballot was Adolf Hitler or Osama bin Laden. Wasserman-Schultz’ claim that this is a hard distrcit for Democrats to win in is so ridiculous that she should be fined for being too stupid to talk.

The fact is, that if President Obama been able to give voters, including Democrat voters, a reason to believe in him, they will. But now that the recession we are in is the longest in our history, and everything from job numbers to retail sales continue to be down, Americans are growing impatient. They now want a change from the “change” that candidate Obama promised in 2008. And to make matters worse, President Obama’s latest attempt to save face and the economy with his speech to a joint session of Congress and his American Jobs Act, has done little more than reinforce voters negative impressions of him. General consensus is that his new plan is anything but new and in truth, just a regurgitation of the policies and plans that have gotten us to where we are today.

This is why the special election in NY-9 was so “difficult for Democrats”.

It is why Democrats lost control of the House of Representatives in a historic wave election that elected more Republicans to Congress than we have seen since the 40’s. And it is why Democrats are headed to a very rough 2012 election cycle.

Fortunately for Republicans, Democrats like President Obama and DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz don’t want to hear the message that people of New York’s Brooklyn and Queens sent them on Tuesday. But like President Obama himself said, the election is not for 14 months and we can’t afford to wait 14 months to get this economy going. Well Mr. President, the voters also can’t wait 14 months for you to get their message. You should have gotten that message in November of 2010, but clearly you didn’t and so now, there is little expectation for you to get it now.

Mr. President, it’s time to stop shouting “pass this bill”. It’s time to shut your mouth, open your ears, and hear the voice of the voters who are telling you to change direction.
